Katy Perry's Joy At 'Half-British' Status

KATY PERRY's marriage to British funnyman RUSSELL BRAND is already paying great dividends - she can now dual for dual citizenship and avoid the long queues in immigration at London airports.
The I Kissed a Girl hitmaker wed Brand in India last month (Oct10), and insists easy entry to the U.K. was not a factor in her decision to get married - but it helps.
She hopes the citizenship will make her frequent transAtlantic trips less stressful when she touches down in London.
Perry tells Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine, "A gay couple I know are going to get married for British citizenship and I'm like, 'Oh!'. But of course I want to get dual citizenship. Those lines at Heathrow (airport) are disgusting. So, I mean, that would be a perk, right?"

Lil Wayne Handed 360 Hours Of Community Service For Drug Raid

Rapper LIL WAYNE has been sentenced to serve 360 hours of community service in his adopted Miami, Florida as punishment for a drug possession charge from 2008.
The hitmaker flew to Yuma, Arizona on Friday (05Nov10) for sentencing, just a day after his release from New York's Rikers Island prison, where he served eight months for illegal weapons possession.
The hearing stems from an arrest in the town two years ago when border patrol officers pulled over his tourbus and reportedly found cocaine, ecstasy and a handgun on board.
Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to one count of felony possession of a dangerous drug; the other drug charges and the gun charge were all thrown out.
As well as the community service, Wayne was also placed on probation for three years.
Following the sentencing, Lil Wayne jetted off to Miami for a welcome home party at exclusive strip club King of Diamonds.
According to TMZ.com, the rap star plans to celebrate his release from prison with proteges Drake and Nicki Minaj and record label boss Baby Williams.
But there's one catch - the probation documents Wayne signed on Friday clearly state that he "may not consume or drink any substance containing alcohol" as long as he's on probation. That means he'll be sober at his big party.

JUSTIN BREIBER COMMENTS ON FILM

Justin Bieber hopes his upcoming movie will "inspire" people to realise "the sky's the limit".
The 16-year-old singer - who releases his first movie 'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never' worldwide next year - thinks the film will help young people to realise there are no limits in life and they can achieve whatever they want.
He told MTV News: "I want to let people know there's a lot of people that are discouraging in life and that will tell you you can't do something, but you just got to remember that the sky's the limit.
"You're able to do whatever you set your mind to as long as you remember to keep God first and stay grounded. So I think the movie really explains that, and it's really inspiring."
The film's director Jon Chu has previously revealed 'Never Say Never' - which features a cameo by Miley Cyrus - will feature an exchange between Justin's life and his music.
He said: "It's really an interesting sort of pass between his real life to his music, so I think in the trailer, we break it down every step of the way in his life. Everyone said, 'It's not possible,' "
"Every step, everyone's always said, 'No, no, no, no.' And he's always said, 'Yes, yes, yes.' And that sort of 'never say never' idea is conveyed in the trailer."

AKON: I USED TO POSE AS A PRINCE TO ATTRACT GIRLS

Akon used to pretend he was an African prince to get girls.The 'Lonely' singer split his time between Senegal and the US while growing up and admits he would play on his African roots as a teenager, by claiming to be royalty so as to impress girls.Of his traditional African styling, Akon said: "When I was 17, I thought I was the flyest thing on the planet. Of course, I still had my African roots so I would wear dashikis that kinda matched my jeans.
"I think I was a young hustler at that time. I told everybody, 'I'm a prince!'
"That was my thing in high school. People would say, 'Yeah, he a prince; you know he a prince, right?' Like 'Yeah, I'm a prince, see?' That was fun!"
His brother Omar added: "People just didn't know any better so they believed that we were princes from Africa."
Akon said he got the idea from the classic Eddie Murphy movie 'Coming to America', a comedy about a misplaced African prince trying to make his way in the US.
He added to MTV: "I would play off that, because when 'Coming to America' came out years ago, it felt like that was the thing to do."

Jessica Simpson's Easy-Going Boyfriend

Jessica Simpson's new boyfriend is "easygoing".
The 'Dukes of Hazard' actress' sister Ashlee revealed she and husband Pete Wentz sometimes go on double dates with Jessica and her new man, NFL football player Eric Johnson, and she enjoys his gentle nature.
She told E!: "He's just really easygoing, they're a fantastic couple. We're definitely, like, all a big family, so we double date all the time."
Ashlee has also lifted the lid on her and Pete's Halloween weekend with their 23-month old son Bronx, and her decision to crop her hair to short and blonde.
Ashlee added: "For me it's a fun change with my hair, I had fun, just a new do, chop it all off, be blond again, good times!
"We had the best Halloween together, Bronx wore several different costumes, but I can't tell you what."
Although she enjoyed Halloween, Ashlee admits her favourite holiday is just around the corner, and she is already getting in the festive mood now.
She said: "I'm obsessed with holidays, I'm, like, ready for Christmas music now, I just get that way, I can't help it."
The 'Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)' singer is also working on a fourth studio album, but she won't release anything for a while, as she is concentrating on her family life.
She added: "I am working on it, but I'm taking my time, my little boy is my priority, I'm having a blast, but sometime late next year."

Rick Ross - Ross Wins Trademark Battle Against Drugs Kingpin

A multi-million dollar trademark infringement lawsuit between rapper RICK ROSS and former crime king RICKY ROSS was dismissed on Monday (01Nov10).
The rapper, real name William Leonard Roberts II, has been accused of adopting his stage name from the ex-cocaine trafficker, who became infamous for running a drug empire in Los Angeles in the 1980s.
Ricky Ross lost the first stage of his legal battle in July (10) after a judge threw out an injunction against the release of the rapper's album Teflon Don.
And on Monday, the presiding judge at California's U.S. District Court dismissed the entire lawsuit on the grounds that Ross' illegal activity made it impossible to determine if he had "valid trademark for his name".
According to AllHipHop.com, the judge ruled, "In support of his trademark claims, Plaintiff alleges that his name was well known in the drug trade and by law enforcement segments of the urban crime, rap and black community because he did business as Rick Ross, until he was arrested, prosecuted and incarcerated in federal prison.
"Because this illegal activity cannot be used to establish secondary meaning, such allegations do not provide support for Plaintiff having a valid trademark for his name."

Rihanna Confirms Katy Perry Duet And Says Pair Could Tour

RIHANNA, the 22-year-old American singer, has confirmed that she has been working with KATY PERRY on new material, and suggested that the pair could tour together, reports MTV News. The singer controversially missed Perry's wedding to British comedian RUSSELL BRAND last month, despite having a hand in organising the ceremony.
However, after recent speculation surrounding a possible duet between the two, RIHANNA confirmed, "We're actually working on some music together - hell yeah". In reply to the questioning about the possibility of a joint tour, the singer said, "I would love to tour with Katy. She's a rock star. And when I see her live, she just brings such a fun vibe, like a colourful rock star". The 'Umbrella' star went on to compliment Perry's live shows, saying, "She has all these props. She has candy and fruit and a blown-up ChapStick onstage, but then she's rocking out with a guitar and banging her head and swinging onstage and crowd-surfing".
RIHANNA will first release her new album 'Loud' on 10th November 2010, and the record features collaborations with NICKI MINAJ and EMINEM. Details of the KATY PERRY duet are not yet known.
